• Is self-driving available?

  Absolutely, you drive the boat yourself as default and be your own captain. No boating license is required to drive our BBQ boat.

• What’s the passenger capacity of the New BBQ Boat?

  Each BBQ Boat can hold up to 10 adults, with each person weighing around 90kg.
  Just a heads up: you’re more than welcome to bring pets along, like cats and dogs. We’ve even got specially fitted life jackets just for them.

• Why choose our new bbq boat?

  A. Our BBQ boat is safe and stable — it has better stability and buoyancy than the old Donut boats. As far as we know, the donut boats are made with plastic rotational molding technology, so no counterweights can be built inside the hull. Passengers have to seat themselves roughly according to their weight once they get on board. By contrast, our boat has four built-in balance weight spots evenly distributed. Even at high speed, the bow trim angle won’t exceed 3 degrees.
  B. The Donut boats made with LLDPE rotational molding are one-piece manufactured, so no buoyancy foam can be put inside. Even the traditional fiberglass boats use polyurethane foam inside as buoyancy material. The biggest problem is that once water gets into the hull, the foam will absorb water and throw the boat off balance.
  Our BBQ boat uses high-density EPE foam built inside, which is completely non-water-absorbent. Plus, the keel is double-sealed, which creates two separate air chambers inside the hull — this guarantees the boat will never sink.

• How much do the boats cost to rent?

• Is BYO allowed?

  Absolutely. Bring your own food, drinks and favourite snacks, then cook it your way on the river. It’s one of the best parts of the BBQ boat experience — relaxed, casual and completely your own.

• Can the top parasol be opened?

  Our parasol has three sun shade sails, and each of them can be folded or opened independently.
  If you’d like to get a sun tan, you can fold up part of the sail and sit in the sun.
  For passengers with sensitive skin who prefer to stay out of direct sunlight, all three sun shade sails can be kept fully open.

• Are Pets Allowed?

  Absolutely! Feel free to bring your fur baby onboard. Just please keep them off the wire cables like the motor’s. A cleaning charge will be needed if any mess is left behind.

• Do you have smaller BBQ boats available?

  Our Perth new BBQ boat hire only comes in one size for now. There are 3 boats in our fleet, providing capacity for up to 30 passengers for larger groups.

• Can we drink alcohol on the boat?

  Passengers are allowed to drink in moderation. But the boat driver is not permitted to drink any alcohol at all.

• Can we Decorate?

  For sure, you’re welcome to decorate the boat. You can bring along party essentials such as birthday bunting and other decorations by yourself. Or, you can call us in advance, and we will have everything ready and set up for you ahead of time. Please remember to notify us a few days prior so we can make proper arrangements. We also offer a professional decoration service which you can book together with your BBQ boat hire.

• Can I cancel my booking if my plans change?

  1. Bookings can be rescheduled but are non-refundable.
  2. Reschedule at least 3 days in advance — no admin fee applies.
  3. Rescheduling within 3 days will incur a $50 administration fee.
  4. If bad weather forces cancellation on the day of your booking, the admin fee will be waived.

• What’s the minimum age requirement?

  All age groups are welcome onboard. You could bring your kids along to enjoy this unique cruise on the Swan River. Note, you must be at least 18 years of age or older if you want to drive the BBQ boat yourself.

• What should I do if I collide with another boat while driving the BBQ boat?

  If this happens, please contact us immediately using the marine radio on board. Mobile phones often have no signal when you’re far from the shore. This kind of incident is very unlikely to happen. We will provide a full safety briefing on self-drive the BBQ boats.

• Can we play music while enjoying barbecue onboard?

  Absolutely! What could be better than pairing the stunning scenery of the Swan River with delicious BBQ and great music?
  Each of our BBQ boats has a Hi-Fi stereo with four speakers. You can easily connect your phone via Bluetooth to play your favorite music.

• How many hours does the rental last?

  We offer four standard daily rental sessions from Monday to Thursday. An extra two-hour evening slot starting from 7:00 PM is available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

  Each regular session lasts two hours. Please note that the slot from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM is set as one hour by default. If you want to enjoy a full two-hour riverside breakfast cruise with your family or best friends, feel free to contact us in advance to make arrangements.

  Besides, we will provide you with full operation guidance and safety instructions before you self-drive. This briefing time is not included in your actual rental period.

• Can we dock the BBQ boat elsewhere to pick people up along the way?

  Docking for passenger pick-up or drop-off is strictly prohibited. All guests must stay on board until the boat returns to the original departure point at Mounts Bay.

• Do you supply tableware and drinking cups?

  Yes, if it’s necessary. But these items are available for an extra fee of $ 5 per person. Please tell us in advance via phone or email when booking our BBQ boat.

• Is it allowed if we throw food waste and rubbish into the river?

  This is strictly forbidden. We firmly oppose all forms of water pollution. Protect every inch of the Swan River, and we are guarding our beloved home.
